Liam and Missy. Missy is also a very, very sweet dog. Her favorite thing to do is be with her people. When Missy sees a child or toddler, she will cawl up to the child on her belly so that she does not scare the little one. These dogs do well off leash because they have such an affectionate heart and are very loyal.
Our son can lay on her to watch t.v. - Missy loves the closeness. These dogs have never growled at anyone, stranger or family.

Beth and Navarre.
Native American Indian Dogs are descendants of the dogs Native Americans had in their villages before they were almost entirely wiped out along with their owners many years ago. They were recreated using the blood lines of the Indian dogs found in North America. These dogs have more of the native genetic vigor so lacking in our pure bred dogs of today. They can be big dogs up to 100 pounds or smaller dogs 40 to 50 pounds. THESE DOGS DO NOT HAVE A DOGGY ODOR, ARE HYPOALLERGENIC FOR MOST PEOPLE WITH DOG ALLERGIES, AND SHED ONCE A YEAR.

Liam and Shiloh.
This breed is highly intelligent and require mental stimulation and opportunities for exercise. Being isolated in a yard only would not be sufficient for the outlet they require for their energy. They are very smart and need to have their minds stimulated through obedience training and regular exercise.

We believe that purposeful breeding of healthy, sound, intelligent, friendly and useful dogs is vital in a breeding program. There are many dogs of undetermined lineage found in shelters around the country. These dogs should be your first choice in gaining a family pet if you have no preference in the type of dog you have or if you are willing to work with dogs with special needs or questionable temperments. These unfortunate dogs need homes. But if you need to know more about the dog you would be bringing into your home, it's ok to look at purposefully bred dogs too. If we only allow sheltered dogs to find homes and not continue responsible breeding of certain types of dogs and even developing new breeds, our future choice of dogs will be very limited. In fact many breeds of dogs would become extinct and most others would have unknown pedigrees.
The NAID was in danger of becoming extinct, so a major effort to bring them back was made several years ago by breeder, Karen Markel. There are only a few breeders given rights to raise these dogs because she does not want them to become over populated into society and end up becoming over-bred and in shelters.

We acquired our dogs from Karen.
These dogs very rarely bark. When there is activity going on outside, they will watch very intently. I heard our male, Navarre, make a type of barking sound a few times. Our Sibercaan is starting to make a barking type sound now and will alert us to strangers outside the house. I have never heard our female NAID bark. These dogs do whine and howl however.

For more info on the NAID please check out Karen's site:

We have one male NAID, Navarre.
We have one female NAID, Missy.

SHILOH
These dogs require owners who would be able to train and care for a large sized dog, 45 pounds and up to 100 pounds. These dogs prefer not to be left on their own, and would prefer another dog friend. They are very social dogs and love company of humans and other dogs.
